Strategic and Digital Communications
In today’s cluttered market, you need clear, concise and effective communications. Strategic communications are an essential component of any plan or effort.
We take your message and, without changing its core meaning, adapt it to a variety of audiences to ensure that it will be received the way you want it.
What have we done for clients? Here are a few examples:
- Changed the perception of a sector by the public and government officials,
- Convinced a union membership to support the increase of dues – this despite several previous failed attempts,
- Developed a campaign to successfully increase interest in the work done by an association.
How?
- Communication plans
- Full-suite communications product development – from key messages to news releases
- Digital development and strategies, including website, online content and social media advice
Public and Stakeholder Relations
In many ways, we run a relationship business. We help our clients carefully assess the relationships they need to build and strengthen and offer proven strategies to do so.
From stakeholders, to media, to government.
Using a strategic lens, we serve clients by advising or leading:
- Event Planning
- Announcements
- Media relations
- Media coaching and training
- Issues Management
- Stakeholder consultations and engagement
We strongly support the need for clients to embrace the concepts of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility in communication strategies, and can help guide how to effectively ensure authentic stakeholder consultation and engagement.
As an example, our senior partner recently led a national consultation which focused on the needs of an equity-deserving group. The success of the consultation led to other stakeholders asking for advice on how to better consult this specific group.
Executive and Governance Advice
Sound, trusted advice is priceless. Leaders know that.
Leaders also know good governance is critical to good business.
This is where we come in.
Our clients come to us for advice, counsel and recommendations at the individual and leadership team level. These include:
- Preparing for organizational change – internally and externally
- Governance advice
- Public policy
- Crisis management
- Reputation and perception reviews
- Industry and political insights
We are proud to have been trusted with advising leaders in non-governmental organizations, corporations, senior government officials and politicians. Contact us today to start the conversation.
Crisis communications
While the best thing to do is plan, pre-empt and avoid crises – sometimes it is inevitable.
This is when leaders define themselves.
The media is full of examples of leaders that have succeeded in handling a crises and others who have not. But, behind successful leaders there’s often a team of key advisers. This is where we come in.
We take a crisis and transform it into an opportunity.
We also help you plan before a crisis happens, so you can act quickly when it does.
Examples:
When a government agency announced a penalty against one of our clients, we enacted a public relations strategy to increase the company’s profile by highlighting its positive reputation of good business practices, and in turn, mitigated significant shareholder and market loss. The result? The government’s announcement ended up having virtually no negative impact on our client (and the agency subsequently abandoned the penalty!).
When the media ran a negative piece on a member within a national association (our client), we were able to swiftly respond, change the narrative, and direct attention away from our client to the real issue: outdated government policy that needed to be changed.
We offer:
- Crisis Management Planning
- Crisis Communications and Advice
It can be lonely in a crisis as a leader. Surround yourself with trusted advisers. – We are proud to be trusted by so many leaders in the not-for-profit and business sectors, when they need us most.
